What Ive Learned In 20 Years As A Hairstylist...

It’s time to celebrate! This month marks my 20- year anniversary as a hairstylist! Can you believe it? Time flies when you’re having fun! Will you celebrate with me as I share some of the knowledge I gained along the way.
Clients want candid advice and exceptional customer service.
I've had plenty of conversations with new clients who have left their former stylist for not being heard. Providing my clients with a thorough consultation is my way of making sure I understand their vision.
Clients want to have their hair styled in the salon but also learn how to maintain it at home.
Using the right hair products matter!
Professional Products use gentler cleansers that are more concentrated, which means they are able to produce better results.
Every woman should color her hair once in her lifetime.
Empowering a person with a hairstyle is everything!
When a client smiles at the end of their visit I can feel the confidence and happiness just radiating.
Do what you like. even if a style isn't trending, if you like it, rock it!
Almost every trend comes back.
When crochet styles became popular again a few years ago I remember thinking, " I was doing this in '03."
Diet plays a big part in your hair health.
Knowledge is power.
The industry is constantly changing, so I take classes yearly to stay current. Over the years I've learned about products and how they work on the hair. I also concentrated on the hair and scalp and what they need to thrive.
Never go to bed without covering your hair or sleeping with a satin pillowcase.
Stress can take a toll on your hair
Stress can push hair follicles into a “resting” phase so that they don't produce new hair strands. Over time, hair can fall out more easily, even if you're just washing, combing, or touching it. If you notice a thinner ponytail or a sudden increase of shed hairs in the shower, on the pillowcase, or around the house you may be stressed.
You're never too old!
Age is only a number, if you feel it you can wear it.
Women should always support and strengthen each other., a compliment goes a long way.
I'll never know how I got so lucky to make people feel confident and beautiful day in and day out, but I am forever grateful that I get to stand behind the chair working on the world's best clients. To my clients and coworkers past and present cheers to you all! Thank you for making these past 20 years as beautiful as they've been and I look forward to 20 more.
